What Can The Optimum Development Programme Do For YOUR Child?
Life is traumatic. Minor traumas can start even before birth. If the growing foetus cannot move freely, optimum growth may not occur. Birth in particular is often traumatic. Even Caesarians can be traumatic, robbing the infant of its preparation and slow introduction to the world.
The schedule for a child undergoing preventive maintenance (the healthy child) is as follows:
- 6 weeks old
- 3, 4-5, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 months old
- then every following 6 months
Complete growth and development charts are kept for each child to enable anything unusual to be quickly identified. If a problem is found at a check-up then the details are explained to the parent and with the necessary consent the child is treated. This will involve one or more extra visits.
Chiropractic attempts to help the nervous system work in the best way it can for an individual. It does this by a careful and thorough case history and assessment of your child. The findings are explained to you and a treatment plan worked out. Gentle adjustments are made via the joints in the body which in turn affect the nervous system.
Because chiropractic addresses the nervous system, this can often be a suitable intervention for children with learning disabilities.
