What is the NeuroImpulse Protocol (NIP)?

This protocol was initially developed by Dr. Neil J Davies in the 1990s. Dr Davies is the author of, “Chiropractic Paediatrics: A Clinical Handbook” published by Churchill Livingstone. Dr. Davies has evolved a gentle method that can be used on even newborn babies, to correct neurological imbalances which affects the well-being of the child. One of Dr. Davies’ research paper shows the effect of this type of adjustment on babies with plagiocephaly, which is an asymmetry of the head. As babies spend so much time lying on their backs, their heads can often form a flat spot. This can affect brain growth and development, so is not just a cosmetic issue. While this problem can correct itself in around 60% of cases, the research indicated that with this adjusting over 90% of cases were resolved.

Dr. Rosie Kitchiner is one of a small group of specialist paediatric chiropractors in the UK. This is what the postnominals “MCC(Paeds)” or “FCC(Paeds)” means. She has trained in NIP and treats a large number of babies and children as part of a family practice.

As well as what feels like gentle massage to the head. Other points in the body may be treated. Usually just one at a time and this can often be shown to have an immediate positive effect, which parents can often see after just the first visit.

There is no popping sound or other discomfort to worry about. Dr. Davies can adjust upto 100 babies per day and has never has an injury with this protocol.

Dr. Davies travels the world training up potential paediatric chiropractors and Dr. Rosie Kitchiner has been studying with him for 4 years and is one of the most experienced paediatric specialists in the UK using this technique.
